We all had a great time at the South Cambs Year Mini Olympics on Tuesday 20th June. We attended the event at Wilberforce Road in Cambridge along with 43 other schools, with around 1500 children!
It was a fiercely hot and sunny day but we drank lots and put on our sun cream and hats ready to have lots of fun learning new games and skills. In the morning we rotated around 8 track games including; Boccia, Tug of War, relays, hurdles, throwing, long jump and learning an Olympic dance as well as rest break. We had a lovely lunch before starting all over again, this time on the astro turf. We started with Problem solving and then moved onto; football, multi skills, tennis, hockey, cricket, golf and another rest break.
Despite it being so hot, the children were amazing, enthusiastically joining in with all the sports and being ultra polite to the young sports leaders who were running each event. We are so proud of year 4, who didn't moan once about the heat - you are a SUPER year group!!!
We were all so proud of our year 4 children throughout the whole process of this production. Their enthusiasm and attitude was great to see in both the rehearsals and performances. A huge thanks to everyone who helped make the performance a success, the children should be very proud of themselves.
