Jeavons Wood Pre-School
Jeavons Wood Pre-School opened in September 2013 in a purpose built room on-site of Jeavons Wood Primary School.
We offer funded and non-funded sessions for children from the age of 3 years during term time only. We also offer a few limited spaces for funded 2 year olds. The setting offers 2 sessions a day, each session is 3 hours long. The morning session runs from 8.45am – 11.45am and the afternoon session from 11.45am – 2.45pm. The afternoon session begins with lunch which the children can bring in, or a hot lunch is provided by the school at an additional cost of £2.15. The children can also attend for a whole day 8.45am to 2.45pm (6 hours).
Every child is entitled to 15 hours a week of government funding from the term after they turn 3 (2 and a half days (5 sessions) of free provision). Our main intake of children is in September each year. If your child is not yet eligible for funding or if they are already using their funded hours with another childcare provider they are still able to attend the Pre-School. An additional charge of £12.75 per 3 hour session will apply.
We accept children on to the waiting list from their 2nd birthday. The waiting list is held in age order and when a space becomes available it will be offered to the eldest child (in accordance with LEA guidelines), regardless of how long they have been on the list. Highest priority is given to children with siblings already attending Jeavons Wood Primary School. We do our best to ensure that all children in the year before they start school will receive a Pre-School place. If you would like your child to be accepted onto the waiting list please contact Nina East (details below) for a waiting list application form. You can also download the waiting list form, see below. This can be returned by email or via the main school reception desk addressed to the Pre-School.
If you think your child is eligible for a funded two year old place, please consult your local Children’s Centre who will help you to complete the relevant forms and refer your child to us to see if there is a place available.
