Our first week in Caterpillar Class

We expored the oats

We had fun playing the musical instruments

We loved the water bubbly play

We enjoyed being on the boat

and we made lots of sand castles

What else do we get up to?

We like to play lotto games

we make obstacle courses with the crates

we like to draw on a large scale

and we enjoy learning how to program the 'Beebot'.

We baked bread after learning the story of 'The Little Red Hen'

We measured out the flour

We poured in the warm water to activate the yeast

We mixed it together

and mixed it some more

then we had lots of fun kneading the dough

We have had fun exploring and investigating

We have been arranging the wooden shapes

We have made shapes outside

and we've explored weight and number with conkers

we enjoyed exploring them in our autumn tray

All the children really enjoyed showing us the items they had collected. We have been using describing words when feeling the different textures and talking about the colours. It has also helped the children to match new vocabulary to the real objects.
