Autumn 1

Year 3 have been learning all about solids, liquids and gases. We have been learning about the arrangement of molecules in the different states and how this can change with heat and cooling. We carried out an investigation that looked at melting in different food types, seeing how long it took for butter, cooking chocolate, jelly and milk chocolate to change state from solid to liquid when they are heated.

In Science Year Four are carrying out a parachute investigation.  They have been learning all about forces and Newton's laws.  In groups they have designed their own experiments and have constructed parachutes to test.  We will be  writing conclusions based on our predictions and the performance of our parachutes.
