We will be completing a project on Pablo Picasso where we will look at both his paintings and his sculpture. Our project will culminate in creating our own Picasso style sculpture.
We will be looking at printing and painting with different types of vegetable and fruit. We will also look at constructing a piece of art out of food!
In art we will be looking at creating our own wintry trees using a variety of materials. We will experiment with blowing paint to create trees and using tissue paper to give the illusion of distance.
We will also use masking tape and colour wash to create snowy tree effects. Finally we will look at the work of Kandinsky and use powder paints to creates Kandinsky's circles.
We will begin the term by producing some firework art for our classroom display. We will use inks to blow the paint into firework patterns, adding a touch of glitter to create a sparkly effect. We will display these with our firework poems.
In art we will explore the artist and sculptor Andy Goldsworthy. We will look at his work and decide which works we like best. We will then plan and create our own Andy Goldsworthy inspired sculpture and hold an exhibition for our parents to see our work.
